farewell, o memory mine
(an everlasting psychic wound)
by TWYLIGHT
an everlasting psychic wound...
Originally, this was just the final song of the TWYLIGHT project's debut album, one of a few interpretations of trauma and dissociation in music form. Now, it's the closest and most accurate interpretation we've made yet. This is not an easy listen, and was just as hard to write. Created in the middle of May 2025, we were compelled to rewrite and make a new version of this specific song that’s all about trauma, dissociation, and the severe disconnection and conflict caused by it, in order to vent out built-up emotion. By the time we finished the track, the migraine headache was so severe. This is all that pain. This is a mental spiral made into song form. We hope this track brings those with similar experiences comfort, or a way to understand and learn. You are not alone.

Ⓟ 2024 TWYLIGHT
Ashley “Twilight” Jaeger, better known as TWYLIGHT, is a Missouri-based musician who started out producing exclusively electronic music, but has since expanded her horizons to other non-EDM genres and began expressing herself through her music. Despite the many harsh struggles she has endured during her lifetime, the 22-year-old continues to find comfort and joy in navigating her emotions and memories through sound and music, exploring and expressing difficult topics, from surviving life as a trans-nonbinary artist and the dysphoria that comes with, to sharing a body with different minds and the chaos that it brings, and everything esoteric in between.Jaeger first started learning and creating music at age 12 after being inspired by many EDM artists, such as Skrillex, until she eventually started the electronic music alias (which later became a band) “Kyoruka” in 2020, producing original EDM songs for labels like SILKENWOOD, with some self-releases and many remixes on the side. It wasn’t until after the release of her song “Burning In My Body” that she realized a new vision for her music. In 2023, she moved away from Kyoruka and EDM to begin the TWYLIGHT project with the releases of the first single “broken bottles” and first EP “Heartache” the following year. Soon after the EP’s release, in 2025, Twilight self-released her debut album “The Parts of Me That Only I Can See”, an 11 track LP exploring topics of mental health, dissociation, plurality and living with herselves. The TWYLIGHT project is expressing raw emotion and trauma through music, art and writing, with no pulled punches for the hope and goal to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable. Twilight doesn’t wish to be defined by genre, as she continues to find ways to mash together ideas and styles into any given project, not just music, as her passion for the creative works is still burning bright!
